School building inaugurated
Tanahun, October 23:
The chairperson of Okama Japan, K Hada, inaugurated a newly constructed two-room building of the Parasar Lower Secondary School at Benipatan of Byas municipality- 7 amidst a function today.
Speaking at the function, Hada said assistance was given for the construction of the building to provide opportunity to the poor and backward students to go to school.
The building was constructed at the cost of Rs 522,392, of which the Japanese organisation provided Rs 319,423, Byas municipality Rs 70,000, District Development Committee Rs. 15,000 and the school Rs 46,933, the headmaster of the school, Hem Poudel, said. A total of 274 students in the school are from the Bote community and the number of students enroling has increased after the Japanese organisation started providing scholarships.
Meanwhile, Mayusima of Okama Japan today inaugurated a suspension bridge that was constructed over the Madi river at Benipatan with the assistance of Okama Japan.
