School padlocked in Rajbiraj
Rajbiraj, June 11
School Management Committee members and local guardians padlocked Jaycees Basic School at Rupani Rural Municipality, owing to irregularities during the appointment of a new teacher at the school in Saptari.
A complaint was also lodged at the Distrct Administration Office regarding the same. As per the complaint, SMC and guardians have accused head teacher Surya Narayan Mandal and SMC Chair Dev Narayan Yadav of taking Rs 600,000 as bribe to appoint an incompetent and less qualified candidate by avoiding the qualified ones for the post of a primary teacher.
They charged that the head teacher and SMC chair had formed a teacher selection committee without consulting other committee members to meet their vested interests.
They have demanded that a qualified candidate be appointed for the post through open competition.
