School peons stage protests

Mahendranagar, January 21:

Peons of the government schools in the far-west region today staged a sit-in in front of the Kanchanpur district education office demanding quota for peons in the schools and placing them under permanent appointment.

There are some 4000 peons working in the government owned schools in the region.

The peons said they came to the DEO to stage protests after the school administrations, school management committees, political parties, students and teachers ignored their demands.

“We decided to launch protests in Mahendranagar after nobody listened to our protests in schools,” said Bhagat Singh Bagal, who hailed from Darchula.
