ITAHARI: The Universal Residential English School of Itahari resumed its activities on Wednesday after the management committee expressed a written commitment to expel its math teacher.

Neupane, the math teacher at the school, severely punished

16 students for failing an internal examination. Neupane had forced the students for 780

sit-ups and beaten them mercilessly.

Many students were injured and fallen unconscious due to the barbaric punishment.

Nine of them were admitted to BP Koirala Institutes of Health Sciences, Dharan and others at a local clinic.

The Principal of the school has expressed his commitment not to repeat such incidents in future. The guardians have also agreed to bear the expenses of their children’s treatment.
