DHADING, AUGUST 2

Dhading District Administration Office today directed all the schools in Dhading to close in-person classes immediately as the daily Covid-19 cases were on the rise.

The administration said that schools had started teaching-learning activities in the physical presence of students and that was not allowed.

Issuing a notice, DAO added that schools that were not able to conduct teaching-learning activities for a long time had started physical classes. The administration urged all the schools not to operate physical classes as the situation was not favourable.

Most of the schools in the local levels had started physical classes from July 30.

The DAO has prohibited educational institutions from conducting classes physically, organising trainings and symposiums, with the aim of controlling and managing the coronavirus infection.

The administration urged stakeholders not to plan for the operation of physical classes at present and to follow the administration's order strictly. According to the DAO, some of the local levels have defied the administration's prohibitory order. The prohibitory order has to be followed strictly, said the DAO.

The virus might have spread from educational institutions as the schools had opened against the regulations.

The administration added that the situation might be critical and the institutions should be responsible for the same.

The government has sent a circular directing schools and other educational institutions not to operate physical classes amid the present risk of the virus spread.
