Scooter-hit kills pedestrian in Chitwan

BHARATPUR: A man died after a scooter knocked him in Bharatpur Metropolis-5 of Chitwan district, on Thursday evening.

The deceased has been identified as a man who appeared to be in his mid-40s, said the Chitwan District Police Office.

According to the police, the scooter (Na 36 Pa 9324) en route from Bharatpur to Mangalpur knocked the pedestrian injuring him critically at Pancharatna Chok, yesterday.

The injured died while undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College.

The scooter rider was also injured in the road accident. The injured has been identified as Janak Kandel (22) of Bhendabari area in Gaindakot Municipality-10 of Nawalpur district.

Meanwhile, Kandel is receiving treatment at Bharatpur Hospital. He is said to be in critical condition, police said.
