NAWALPUR: A woman riding on a scooter was crushed to death by a passenger bus along Mahendra Highway in Gaindakot Municipality-12 of Nawalpur district on Monday night. Beldiya-based police post identified the deceased as 42-year-old local resident Kamala Bhandari. The bus (Lu 1 Kha 8677) heading in an eastward direction reportedly rammed a scooter (Na 56 Pa 6573) from behind and ran over its rider who fell on the road, in no time, at Harkapur Chowk, at 7:30 pm yesterday. A witness, local Ramchandra Dhital said that Bhandari died on the spot. It has been reported that local residents had obstructed the highway for about an hour following the fatal accident.
