BHOJPUR:  A person died and another sustained serious injuries when an Indian truck collided with a scooter in Katahari-1 of Morang district on Friday.

The truck  (WB 11 B 6441) collided with the two-wheeler (Ko 15 Pa 4895) coming from the opposite direction, said East Regional Police Office, Biratnagar.

According to police, the scooter rider Basanta Rajbanshi (18) and pillion rider Shiva Rajbanshi (12), permanent residents of Bhatiganj of Morang, were seriously injured and taken to Biratnagar-based Neuro Hospital.

Rider Basanta, however, died while undergoing treatment at the Hospital, informed police.

Police has already impounded the truck and search for the absconding truck driver is underway.
