RAJBIRAJ: A girl, who was on her way to take the Secondary Education Examinations, was killed after getting struck by a truck at Rupnagar of Saptari along the East-West Highway on Monday morning.

The truck (Na 1 Ka 5200) heading towards the east rammed Nitu Kumari Thakur (16) of Bhardaha in Saptari, informed the Kanchanpur Area Police Office said.

Nitu, who had sustained severe injuries in the accident, died on her way to the Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj, police added.

Police have detained the truck driver for investigation.
