Security chiefs direct effective management in Dang

DANG: Chiefs of security agencies have directed for the effective security management in Dang district for the December 7 polls on Monday.

Chiefs of security agencies like the police, Armed Police Force (APF) and National Investigation Department (NID) met in Dang yesterday and made this direction. They also took stock of security situation of the district.

In the meet they directed the Chiefs of security agencies for the Dang district to increase security and take action against those involving in criminal activities ahead of the polls.

The team of chiefs including Inspector General of Police Prakash Aryal, APF's Inspector General Singha Bahadur Shrestha and NID's Chief Dilip Kumar Regmi also studied the site where an improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated recently.

Earlier, the IED exploded near the venue for an election campaign attended by Nepali Congress leaders including Prime Minister and party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, killing a temporary police and injuring other seven police personnel.
