Security forces close Tribhuvan Highway

Dhading, February 3:

Normal life along the Tribhuvan Highway has been affected after the security forces closed the highway for “security reasons.”

The security forces have closed down the main entrypoint into the capital since Wednesday saying that the Maoists may intensify their activities in the capital during the Maoist bandh.

The traffic at Hetauda-Naubise section of Tribhuvan Highway was halted after getting information of the Maoist arrangements to enter the capital via the highway, security source said.

The closure of the 117-km-long Tribhuvan Highway that links Hetauda of East West Highway to Naubise-Dhading has affected the life in Tistung Palung region.

Security forces have also closed the Pharping-Phaparbari-Makwanpur road, an alternative route to enter the capital from Makawanpur.
