Security personnel repair damaged dam

Security personnel have been repairing a dam damaged by a flood triggered by heavy rainfall on July 25 and 26 in Triyuga River of Tapeshwori VDC, Udayapur.
Security personnel took the initiative after the village came under high risk of flooding.
It is said that Bhawani Battalion deployed as many as 53 personnel for dam repair.
Chief Suman Khadka at the Battalion said that NA, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and locals are repairing the damaged dam.
It is reported that as many as 1,800 houses at wards no 1 to 6 were at high risk of flooding after the flood damaged the dam in the VDC.
Former VDC chairman Dilli Bimali said fertile land along with locals’ houses were at risk.
Meanwhile, Chief District Officer Krishna Chandra Ghimire said District Disaster Rescue Committee has provided more than 4,000 plastic sacks for repair work. He said the risk was somehow minimised with the help of security personnel.
