Security strategy to be reformed for upcoming elections
KATHMANDU: Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhee Prasad Yadav has urged the security bodies to make reliable security arrangement to hold the upcoming elections in a peaceful manner.
Speaking in the meeting of the high-level security committee held at the Election Commission on Friday, CEC asked the security officials to be alert while transporting the ballot boxes.
The meeting has decided to adopt all possible measures to hold the second phase of federal and provincial elections peacefully even after reforming the security strategy if required.
Likewise, Election Commissioner Ila Sharma has urged the security bodies to pay attention towards security sensitivities in view of elections.
Similarly, EC commissioner Sudheer Kumar Shah urged the security bodies to maintain prompt security.
Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Mohan Krishna Sapkota shared that the four security bodies were mobilized to maintain prompt security for the elections.
On the occasion, Election Commissioners Sharma, Shah, EC Secretary Begendra Raj Sharma Poudel, Defense Ministry Officiating Secretary Uttam Prasad Nagila, Nepal Army Major General Sharad Giri, Inspector General of Nepal Police Prakash Aryal, Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, Nepal Singha Bahadur Shrestha and Chief Investigation Director of the National Investigation Department Dilip Raj Regmi were also present.
