Security tightened in Dhangadhi for Prime Minister's arrival

DHANGADHI: A large number of security personnel have been mobilised in Dhangadhi and other areas of Kailali district since Friday morning for the arrival of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Security personnel have taken their positions at various locations of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, also the district headquarters, as per the security plan laid by a meeting of the district security committee.

Teams of security persons in dozens have spread around the city from Dhangadhi Airport to Rashtra Bank Chok and Khula Manch where the mass gathering will be taking place later in the day.

Separate teams of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force can be witnessed staying guard on the roads. According to spokesperson at the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Prateek Bista, a large team of police personnel have been stationed around the city since the morning.

This would be the first time after dissolution of the House of Representatives and split in the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) that chairperson of one of the splinter groups, PM Oli, would be addressing a mass gathering outside Kathmandu valley.
