Bardiya: The search for the killers of Govinda Pandey, former mayor of Gulariya municipality, has been intensified along the Nepal-India border. Nepali and Indian security forces have tightened security in their respective areas and intensified checking activities.

SP at Bardiya district police office Raj Bahadur Bista said Nepal Police has urged Seema Surakshya Bal and Indian police to intensify search of the killers. Bista said one person, Harishchandra Yadav of Gulariya, was arrested on the suspicion of committing the crime but was freed later. Pandey was gunned down on Sunday night in his home by TJMM (Jwala Singh) cadres.
