Bombs planted at candidates' residences in Nawalparasi
NAWALPARASI: With the local level elections just around the corner, security concerns have shot up in Nawalparasi district after bombs were found planted in candidates' residences and public places, forcing the security bodies to take up extra security measures.
On Thursday night, a bomb was found at Nepali Congress's mayoral candidate Mahendra Pokharel's residence in Kawasoti Municipality. The Nepal Army's (NA) bomb disposal squad defused the bomb the same night.
Similarly, a bomb was planted at a public place near the Purano Kawasoti intersection in Kawasoti-3. The bomb that targeted a Nepali Congress assembly actually went off but did not cause human casualties.
