Home Minister Dan Bahadur Shahi arrived in Doti today to assess the security situation in his home district on the eve of King Gyanendraâ€™s informal visit to the Far-Western Development Region starting tomorrow. This is Shahiâ€™s first visit to the district after 22 years. Shahi expressed satisfaction at the development work here. Asked about the security situation in the Far-Western Region, he said: â€œI agree that the situation is not as expected, but 70 per cent of the population feels secure.â€ He said preparations are underway for shifting all the regional offices to Dipayal. Shahi also said the government has adopted a new policy to provide security to the people.
