Six held on assault charge in Chitwan

RATNANAGAR: As many as six persons were arrested on the assault charge from the assorted location of Chitwan district in the past couple of days.

Among the arrested, Raj Kumar Gurung (27) and Suresh Silwal (28) of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1 are accused of assaulting Bijaya Bhujel (28) of Narayangadh with a sharp weapon on Friday, said police.

Bhujel is undergoing treatment in Bharatpur. He is said to be in critical condition.

Similarly, four others were detained on Sunday, on the charge of attacking a policeman under the influence of marijuana, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Deepak Shrestha at the Chitwan District Police Office.

The arrestees have been identified as Bishwa Jeet Rana, Niraj Dahal, Shakti Mohan Gurung and Milan Shahi of Bharatpur Metropolis-19.

Recently, a group of seven persons had pelted Paswan with stones injuring him on the premises of Makaibali Investigation Centre in Rampur, said DSP Shrestha.

Meanwhile, police are investigating into both the cases and the search is on for three others who fled the scene after the brutal attack.
