Six held with pistol, mag in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT: Police have arrested six persons including four Indian nationals for carrying illegal firearms on Thursday.

According to police, a night patrol led by Sub Inspector Krishna Kumar Basnet found the suspects smoking cannabis at Paroha Municipality near no-man’s-land of Nepal-India border and recovered a Chinese pistol along with its magazine following a search.

The arrestees have been identified as Kamal Sah (22) of Gokul Gram Panchayat in Motihari, India, Rakesh Paswan (32), Sandip Paswan (28) and Abdesh Chaurasiya (26) of Shrepur in Ghodason, India, Rohit Shah (31) of Ful Bariya Rural Municipality in Dhanusha, and Manoj Tamang (25) of Kavre.

Law enforcement officers suspect that the gang was plotting a major crime before they were arrested. Moreover, an investigation into the case has been initiated after the court ordered officials to retain the suspect in custody, informed officials.

Likewise, police also impounded three motorcycles used by the arrestees from the incident site.
