BAITADI: An SLC examinee on Thursday gave birth to a baby girl while she was writing her exam. Twenty-one-year-old Arati Thapa was writing her English paper when she went into labour at the Kheti HS School centre in Talladehi VDC. The resident of Ward No 9 of the same VDC, Thapa gave birth to a healthy girl, according to his husband Himal Thapa. The exam was disrupted for half an hour in the hall after Thapa went into labour, according to an exam superintendent. Arati said she was not able to complete all the questions.

22nd attempt

SANKHUWASABHA: Kamala Rai of Sankhuwasabha district is appearing for the SLC examination for the 22nd time this year. Forty-year-old Rai, who studied in the Mahendra Secondary School, Pangma, wrote her paper on Thursday at the exam centre at Himal Higher Secondary School, District Education Officer Dhirga Dhwaj Chapagain said. A 38-eight-year-old private student Menaka Kattel has also been taking the exam from the same centre for years, the centre’s superintendent Hem Raj Rokka said on Thursday.
