RAUTAHAT: An 11-year-old girl died after being beaten by a poisonous snake in Pipra Bhagawanpur VDC of Rautahat district on Thursday.

Babita Kumari Yadav, daughter of Ram Binod Yadav from Pipra Bhagawanpur-1 of the district, was attacked by the poisonous cobra at around 6:30 am.

The girl was cleaning her house during the incident.

The Gaur-based District Hospital said she was taken to the Hospital only at around 10:30 am as she did not share the incident with anyone. Family members had rushed her to the Hospital after witnessing some symptoms of poison.

The Hospital had announced her dead at around 11 am, the Emergency Ward In-Charge Praveen Jha said.

Jha said the girl could not be saved as she arrived at the Hospital quite late.

The doctors had applied 10 vials of anti-snake venom on the victim.

Police Inspector Ram Prakash Chaudhary said the body has been handed over to the family after postmortem.
