Socket bomb planted at Rajbiraj shop, defused

SAPTARI: A socket bomb planted at a shop in Rajbiraj, the district headquarters of Saptari district, has been defused by Nepal Army on Monday.

The explosive was planted at the Om Shree Roshan Emporium two days ago and a military team deployed from the Krishna Dal Battalion under the command of Captain Tika Singh Bista defused it, according to police.

It has been said that the Jaya Krishna Goit-led Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha-Krantikari put the bomb in a bid to terrorise locals in the run-up to the May 14 local level elections.
