SOS Children’s Village Pokhara takes guardianship of two orphaned children

SOS Children’s Village Pokhara today took guardianship of two Rolpa kids, who had lost their parents in a tipper accident in Mustang 18 days ago.

Bibash Gharti Magar, 12, and his brother Biseshan were orphaned after their father Mausam Gharti Magar and mother Jitmaya died in a tipper accident at Syangboche of Loghekar Damodarkunda Rural Municipality in Mustang district, 18 days ago. They were permanent residents of Thawang Rural Municipality, Rolpa.

In the presence of Rolpa-Pokhara Contact Society Chair Prasad Budha Magar, SOS Children’s Village took guardianship of Bibash and Biseshan. SOS Children’s Village Pokhara will look after the children’s upbringing and education.

Co-Director Bhawani Basnet at SOS Children’s Village Ram Bazaar, Pokhara, said SOS was providing shelter and education to 147 children and now the number had reached 149.

Mothers have been managed to care and nurture children in 15 houses of SOS Children’s Village. SOS Children’s Village Director Pradip Bhakta Acharya said one house accommodated eight to 12 children.
