Sovereignty compromised, says Mainali

Phidim, February 2

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare CP Mainali today flayed the Madhes-based parties for compromising national sovereignty with their activities.

Inaugurating the party district conference in Panchthar district headquarters in Phidim today, the CPN-ML chairperson expressed reservations at the activities launched by the agitating Madhes-based parties in the name of agitation.

“They call themselves Nepali and their agitation a struggle for rights but I don’t know how being Nepalis they can bring themselves to engage in activities against their motherland,” said the leader, stating that their activities of hurling stones from across the border and the likes had compromised national sovereignty. He also accused India of using the Madhes-based parties to fulfil its interests.

“India is using them just to create chaos in Nepal,” he said.
