SP lawmaker suspended

Kathmandu, October 30

Rajendra Mahato led Sadbhavana Party today suspended its lawmaker Madhavi Rani for participating in the presidential election on Wednesday.

SP, a constituent of the United Democratic Madhesi Front, which has been agitating in Madhes for more than two months, had directed all the party lawmakers not to take part in the presidential election.

As per party statute, SP Chair Mahato took the decision to suspend her, said party General Secretary Manish Kumar Suman. Suman also said that now the disciplinary committee of the party headed by Ram Kumar Dixit will take action against lawmaker Sah.

Sah was nominated a lawmaker under the proportional representation category. Party sources said today’s action against Sah was part of a mandated process. Sah could not be reached for comments.
