SPA panel to finalise interim constitution
Kathmandu, September 15:
Leaders of the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Nepali Congress (Democratic) agreed today to constitute a taskforce representing the seven-party alliance to finalise the draft of the interim constitution submitted by the Interim Constitution Drafting Committee headed by former Supreme Court judge Laxman Prasad Aryal.
CPN-UML standing committee member Jhala Nath Khanal said the taskforce finalising the draft of the interim constitution should be announced by a meeting of the SPA’s top leaders. He said they would sit together again on Sunday to discuss the interim statute. The meeting was attended by Khanal, Bharat Mohan Adhikari and Ishwor Pokharel of the UML, Ram Chandra Poudel of the Nepali Congress and Bimalendra Nidhi of the NC-D.
