KATHMANDU: The Seven Summit Foundation is planning to reconstruct a building for a secondary school, which was destroyed in the earthquake, in Solukhumbu district.

The building of Tapting School in Solukhumbu district was completely destroyed, thereby preventing students to continue their studies.

For this noble cause of reconstruction, AC Sherpa, President of the Foundation, has led the fund raising campaigns in the United States and abroad, according to a statement issued by SSF.

Till now, the Foundation has collected USD 19,759 from a single event in New York City, USA, where a documentary was screened among the audience.

The Foundation said that the campaign will continue. “Seven Summits Foundation is also planning to construct 3,000 earthquake resistant homes and schools for earthquake victims in the long run. Women, children and differently abled people are our priority,” Sherpa added.

The Foundation had organised a charity documentary show for reconstruction and reestablishment of Solsing School of Sindupalchok on May 6 after it handed over Rs 530,000 to the School to rebuild its structures in Kathmandu. The documentary which was based on events of the April 25 earthquake was 21-minute long. “All contribution will reach 100 per cent to people.”

According to Sherpa, the SSF has also been selected for the 2015 Best of Redmond Awards for Foundations.
