Strike grips Mechi-Koshi
Jhapa, December 28:
The transportation services in the 10 districts of Mechi and Koshi zones in east Nepal were disrupted today due to the strike called by the Mangol Youth Liberation Army in the Mechi-Koshi sector. However, educational institutions, markets and factories were opened.
MYLA has been demanding immediate release of its detained cadres.
The short and long distance transportation to and from Jhapa, Ilam, Panchthar and Taplejung in Mechi were halted.
The pamphlets distributed by the organisation stated that one its cadres arrested on December 23 was transferred to Hanumandhoka police office, Kathmandu.
Meanwhile, the police arrested eight persons for vandalising vehicles in Buttabari of Jhapa.
In Taplejung, the normal life was crippled during the bandh called by the MYLA today. It is demanding the release of its cadres arrested in Kathmandu for defacing the walls.
