Students padlock shcool

SINDHUPALCHOWK: Students of Dharmodaya High School in Thulo Dhading VDC of the eastern part of Sindhupalchowk district today padlocked the school citing the headmaster's absence since one month following the summer vacation.

The students padlocked the school for an indefinite period as headmaster Raj Kumar Raut failed to show up in the school for one month.

The summer vacation of the school had ended on 15th of Shrawan.

Before padlocking the school, the irate students submitted a five-point demand to the school administration.

According to tenth grader of the school Laxman Tamang, they were demanding the resignation of the headmaster, regularity of teachers and resumption of school management committee, among others.

He said that the school would not be reopened until their demands were addressed.

Meanwhile, president of the school management committee Surya Lama said the school would be reopened soon after holding talks with the agitating students.

Chief District Officer Surya Prasad Gautam said he was ignorant about the closure of the school.
