Kathmandu, June 8:

The Advisory Committee meeting of the Nepal Bar Association (NBA) said today that the act of issuing a summon notice to NBA president Shambhu Thapa was illegal.

Yesterday, the Kathmandu District Administration Office (KDAO) had issued a summon to Thapa for defying the prohibitory order by launching a demonstration in prohibited areas on Saturday.

Stating that the ‘morning march’ launched by the NBA on Saturday was not illegal, the meeting said it was wrong to say that the NBA and its chief had violated law by organising demonstrations.

Thapa said the NBA would send a reply to the KDAO tomorrow. He, however, said he would not attend to the KDAO summon.
