BHOJPUR: A house was destroyed, gutting property worth around Rs 1.5 million, in Simariya-2 of Sunsari district on Monday.

According to police, the house belonging to local Surendra Bahadur Rishidev was engulfed in the fire while preparing meal at around 9 am.

The fire completely destroyed the house and other property inside it, along with Rs 5,000 cash, informed the East Regional Police Office, Biratnagar.

The fire was taken under control with help of fire engine and local police, the Area Police Office, Duhabi informed.
