INARUWA: The Sunsari District Administration Office (DAO) today provided compensation of Rs 200,000 each to six families who lost their family members in the monsoon triggered flood a week ago in Sunsari.

Families of Asha Devi Rai, Chanda Tamang, Sunita Dhimal, Ishwor Sunuwar, Manu Shrestha and Upendra Mandal received the aid from the DAO.

A team lead by Chief District Officer Gopal Prasad Parajuli met the families of the deceased and provided the relief amount, which the government had pledged earlier today in the first round.

A total of 12 persons from various families had lost their lives to flood-related incidents in various places in the district.

According to the CDO Parajuli, rest of the bereaved families would be provided with the compensation soon.
