KATHMANDU: Police in Sunsari district on Wednesday morning found a body of a woman inside a room in Duhabi-4.

The deceased has been identified as Pabitra Bista (35), who was working as a maid in Mount Manaslu Secondary School of Duhabi. She had been working in the school for the past two years, police informed.

Bista was found dead in the school principal's quarters at around 6 am today, said police.

The preliminary investigation shows that her throat was slit after she was raped, said Police Inspector Shiva Pokharel of the Area Police Office in Duhabi Bhaluwa Municipality.

Further investigation is underway, Pokharel added.
