Sunsari stir called off

Itahari, August 15:

Youths in Inaruwa of Sunsari district withdrew their agitation against police today.

The withdrawal came after 10 people, who were injured in police baton-charge in Inaruwa yesterday, signed an agreement with administrative officials and representative of political parties at the District Administration Office.

The youths were on agitation after police resorted to baton-charge when locals tried to stop public vehicles in Inaruwa last night. Ten persons were injured in the police action. The district administration has agreed to take action against guilty security personnel and provide treatment to the injured.

The agreement also states that the security personnel, who beat up a person in Sunsari Model Hospital, would be punished. According to the agreement, a team of security personnel would be deployed in the hospital.
