Swollen rivers threaten Pokhara

Pokhara, July 26

Flood in the Seti River has washed away pipe supplying drinking water to Pokhara.

Nepal Water Corporation Pokhara said the flood had damaged water pipes on the banks of the Seti. The corporation said pipes were swept away at four places. The corporation has started repair work immediately following the incident.

The swollen Madi River has swept away three houses in Parche VDC-1.

Local Yaman Gurung said that flood had washed away Gaunghar Clinic and an old building of a school.

The flood water in Seti River has inundated 10 houses in Ramghat.

Manoj Rasaili said that the houses of Min Bahadur Pariyar, Purna Bahadur Pariyar, Moti Wising, Krishan Bahadur Nepali, Dipendra Nepali, Bire Nepali, Santu Shrestha, Laxmi Shrestha, Prakash Tamang, and Maite Nepali were swept away.
