Kathmandu, May 5:

The dialogue between campus admi-nistration and students of the Teendhara Sanskrit Hostel today ended inconclusively after the hostellers proposed for a third party mediation.

The students have been protesting against their forceful evacuation from the hostel since Tuesday. The campus had evicted them on April 24.

“The administration is not ready to solve problems,” said Nischal Adhikary, chairman of the Students’ Working Committee at the Teendhara hostel. “A responsible third-party is necessary for mediation.”

He said: “We will continue sit-in programme and start relay hunger strike later on if the problem is not solved through dialogue.”

The sit-in was called off by the hostellers for today after the campus administration called them for talks tomorrow. Chief of the Balmeeki Campus professor Padam Prasad Bhattarai had led today’s dialogue team.

Only five students had started protest in the beginning but now a group of hostellers have taken part in the hunger strike.
