Talks with Tarai outfits must, says FNJ prez

Mahottari, December 20:

Central president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Dharmendra Jha today said writing the new constitution ignoring the demands of the Tarai-based warring groups would be a big mistake.

Saying that Madhes has been a victim of a well-planned conspiracy, he urged all to be cautious. Claiming that the ongoing conflict would end only if the armed Tarai outfits were brought to political mainstream, he said the role of journalists would be crucial to this effect. “Drafting the statute without the suggestion of the warring parties would be an unpardonable mistake,” he said.

Jha threatened to launch a street agitation if the working journalists’ act were not implemented in two weeks.
