DAMAULI: A couple committed suicide to hide their illicit relationship in Tanahun a week ago.

Raj Kumar BK (22) of Thaprek-3 and Mina BK of the same VDC killed themselves by hanging from a tree on Saturday.

BK duo, who had gone missing since July 18, were found hanging from the tree at a jungle in Danda Pani of Thaprek-3, police Inspector Krishna Aryal of the Area Police Office, Belchautara informed.

Locals informed the police after they saw them hanging from the tree.

“When we reached the incident site the bodies were stinking,” Aryal informed.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Raj Kumar, who had returned from Saudi Arabia on June 17, was unmarried while Mina was a married woman.

Mina’s husband is currently in Saudi Arabia for employment.

Police said that the bodies have been handed over to their respective families after conducting postmortem in the Damauli Hospital.
