DAMAULI: Police said they have arrested nine teenagers in connection with a fatal attack on 18-year-old youth in an apparent retribution by a rival gang in Tanahun district. A gang had brutally hit Aakash Thapa of Bisghare with sharp weapons and inflicted serious injuries on him yesterday afternoon. Thapa died during the course of treatment yesterday night. Thapa was attacked in the wake of clash between two rival gangs in Galbubesi in Byas Municipality-1 on Friday night. According to Inspector Bijay Raj Pandit, all the suspects were arrested from various places of Byas Municipality. They are aged 16-17 and are residents of Haiskultar of Byas. Police have seized two khukuris and a sharp knife, apparently used in the attack, from their possessin, DSP Surendra Bahadur Gurung, spokesperson of Tanahun District Police Office, said. Police are preparing to present them before the District Court. They would face murder charges. Meanwhile, the victim's body has been kept at the Pokhara-based Gandaki Hospital, where he was taken for treatment, for autopsy The victim's father is currently abroad for foreign employment. His mother, Bishnu Maya,  said the family would collect the body upon her husband’s arrival on Monday from Malaysia. READ ALSO:
