CHITWAN: A girl died on the spot and another sustained injuries after a tanker hit a motorcycle they were riding on along the East-West Highway in Khairhani of Chitwan district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as pillion rider Sabina Pun (17) of Rapti Municipality-11 in the district.

Motorcyclist Meson Baduja Pun of Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City-3, Kaski was injured in the incident.

According to the District Police Office, the incident occurred when the oil tanker (Na 2 Kha 5714), heading towards Hetaunda, Makawanpur from Bharatpur, Chitwan hit the motorcycle (Na 42 Pa 4886) coming from the opposite direction.

Police have impounded the four-wheeler and arrested its driver for further investigation.
