Tanker staffer held for black marketing of NOC fuel mid-way
RAUTAHAT: Acting on a tip-off, police impounded a fuel-laden tanker and arrested a person from Bagmati Bazaar of Chandrapur Municipality-8 of Rautahat district on Friday.
The tanker (Na 4 Kha 639), carrying 20,000 litres of petrol, was heading to Thankot-based depot of Nepali Oil Corporation.
According to Area Police Office, Chandranigahapur, driver Tapeshwor Prasad Kurmi from Birgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-21 and his assistant Santosh Kumar Pandit were extracting the fuel in a jerrycan from the tanker by breaking the seal.
The police were able to catch only Pandit while the driver is on the run.
The impounded tanker and the assistant driver have been kept at the APO, Chandranigahapur, while police have intensified the search operation to nab the driver.
