TAPLEJUNG: Property worth millions were gutted after a lightning sparked fire in a three-storey house in Taplejung district on Sunday evening.

The house belonging to Gyan Bahadur Sherpa in Khokling area of Mikhwakhola Rural Municipality-1 in the district was reduced to ashes in the lightning-triggered blaze, according to a local resident Laxmi Khatiwada.

It has been reported that local Pasang Sherpa was injured in the lightning incident.

"Millions have been lost in the flames which engulfed the three storey-building," Red Cross Branch Khokling Chair, Jharendra Thapa said.
