Tarai parties hold unity talks
Itahari, October 8:
Madhesi Mukti Tigers, Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha-Jwala Singh and Samyukta Tarai Janatantrik Mukti Morcha have begun talks for unification.
Central leaders of the three groups met in connection with unification at an unknown place today, MMT leader Surya Dev said, adding, the talks started after six months of groundwork.
“As we have same demands, we are holding talks to launch a joint agitation,” Dev said. JTMM-J central member Bibas Bidrohi said 80 per cent of the issues have been settled. Bidrohi added, “If we are united, the state will be forced to fulfil our demands.” Efforts are on to include JTMM-G in the talks, a source said, adding MMT spokesperson Pratap and central leaders of JTMM-J and STJMM were participating in the talks.
