Tarai stir a ploy of regressive forces: Prachanda
Hetauda, February 19:
Maoist chairman Prachanda today said the Tarai agitation was no more than activities of the regressive forces.
The Tarai movement is not an agitation at all, but the pro-royalists and foreigners are instigating it, he said while inaugurating Radio Thaha Sanchar 99.6 MHz.
“The state should fulfill some Madhes demands at the earliest, while some others can be dealt with after the CA polls,” he said.
All Nepalis are keenly watching whether constituent assembly polls would be held on April 10 or not, he said, adding: “There will be no option left for the people but to take the ruling power in their hands if the Constituent Assembly election is not held on time.”
The palace is trying to fight a final war now, but no one can disrupt the polls, he said.
Remembering the Thaha Andolan launched by late Roop Chandra Bista in Makawanpur district against the Panchyat regime, Prachanda said that the Maoists had launched their people’s war at the inspiration of Bista.
He said that the Thaha Andolan and people’s war are inter-related to each other.
“The moments of inaugurating the FM Radio run by Dalits in Butwal and Thaha Radio in Hetauda are most important incidents in my life,” he said.
