Teachers lock out DEOs

Kathmandu, October 31:

The temporary teachers today locked out all the district education offices through out the nation to pressurise the government to fulfil their demands at the earliest.

Dinesh Thapa, general secretary of Temporary Teachers’ Struggle Committee said that the protest would continue tomorrow as well. “After that we would announce further ‘decisive’ protest programmes,” said Thapa. The temporary teachers have demanded placement to the displaced temporary teachers and making all the temporary teachers permanent by following the necessary process.

Lockouts and protest rallies were organised in Pokhara, Nuwakot, Lamjung, Kavre Bara, Dhankuta, Kanchanpur, Syangja, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kailali, Banke, Bardiya, among other districts.
