Pokhara, July 11

A team of tourism entrepreneurs and mediapersons set out for India today to invite Indian tourists to visit Pokhara.

The team will spread message that it is the best season for Pokhara visit for people of Patna, Banaras, Lucknow and other areas bearing the brunt of the scorching summer heat. The team is also slated to hold an interaction with tourism entrepreneurs in various Indian cities.

As per Western Regional Hotel Association’s Chair Bikal Tulachan, Pokhara is suitable to visit in every season. This five-day tourism promotional campaign has been in force since the past six years and it has contributed to boosting town’s tourism, too. It has been successful in bringing a noticeable number of Indian tourists here.

The town, which is often described as a ‘piece of heaven’, offers majestic views of Himalayas and Indian tourists arriving here are left spellbound by its spectacular beauty, he added. It is home to numerous lakes and ponds and caves as well.

As stated by Nepal Tourism Board Province 4 office Chief Surya Thapaliya, most tourists arriving here from India prefer to visit Muktinath, famous religious shrine in Mustang.  Entrepreneurs have found the inflow of Indians has gone up with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s religious trip to Muktinath during his recent visit.
