Team of experts conduct forest certification study in Dang
DANG: Preliminary study has been started at two community forests in Dang with the objective of certifying them as per international standard.
A team of forestry experts from Nepal and India carried out an on-site study of the community forests in Tulasipur Sub-Metropolitan City on Tuesday.
The team led by forest certification expert AK Verma observed Shree Ganesh Community Forest Users' Group at Tulasipur Sub-Metropolis-7 and Nawadurga Community Forest Users' Group at Tulasipur Sub-Metropolis-9.
The team interacted with office-bearers of the community forest users' groups as well as the forest users in these two sites. The experts also observed the community forests.
On the occasion, the team informed the office-bearers and the forest users about principles, standards and indicators of forest certification.
