JITPUR, KAPILVASTU: A teenager has reportedly gone missing after being swept by the Banganga River in Kapilvastu district since Sunday evening.

According to the District Police Office, Kapilvastu, 15-year-old Bansi Mallah of Belbhariya are in Kapilvastu Municipality-12 was swept away by the river yesterday.

Mallah was trying to retrieve logs flowing in the swollen river on Sunday evening when suddenly, the current swept him, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Prahlad Adhikari said.

A 12-member team deployed from the DPO under the command of Inspector Sushil Thapa, has been mobilised in searching the youth.
