Teenager goes missing after being swept away

TANAHUN: A boy went missing and other was rescued after being swept away by a river at the confluence of Madi and Seti rivers in the district today.

The missing has been identified as Chiranjibi Paudel (14), a ninth grader at Maharshi Bedbas Sanskrit Secondary School in Tanahun. Paudel is a permanent resident of Baglung and was living in the district for his studies.

Abishek Aryal, who was also washed away alongside Paudel, was rescued alive by the police with the help of the locals, said Inspector Bijayaraj Pandit. Aryal is tenth grader at the same school.

He is receiving treatment at Damauli-based hospital and recovering, said Pandit adding that the incident occurred while the two were taking a bath.
