Telecom service not available in Dhanusha

Janakpurdham, May 24

More than 1,500 subscribers in Dhanusa have been deprived of Nepal Telecom’s telecommunication service for long with the Telecom’s underground and aerial copper cable and optical fiber cable damaged in the course of expansion of road and the laying of drainage pipes.

The dispute between Nepal Telecom Office, Janakpur and the Integrated Urban Development Project over who should repair or give compensation for the damage has made matters worse. When asked, the Telecom Office said it was not sure when the service would resume as the project had not heeded calls to repair the damage, thus making matters worse.

Those subscribers that have gotten the service disconnected include the RSS office, office of Inland Revenue Office, post office and dozens of office of transport entrepreneurs.
